Home Reports
On 1st December 2008, the Scottish Government introduced a major change to the way that homes are bought and sold in Scotland. All properties for sale in Scotland have to be marketed with a Home Report. The Home Report contains three documents that provide buyers and sellers with better information about the condition and value of homes before an offer to purchase is made. Minister for Communities and Sport, Stewart Maxwell, said, “Buying a house is for most people the largest investment they make in their lives and we believe that the buyer should have good, professional information about its condition and value before making an offer. The Home Report offers prospective buyers more confidence in the property’s condition. For more information visit the www.homereportscotland.gov.uk website. The website includes sample Home Report documents, frequently-asked questions and links to the legislation. |
